A Life360 alternative that prevents distracted driving, not just reports it

Life360 is a family location app. It shows where everyone is, and on Gold and Platinum plans it gives individual driver reports covering phone usage, top speed and hard braking. BuckledApp doesn’t track location. It makes the drive itself safer: distracting apps lock at 20 MPH, and your teen gets them back only after an AI check confirms the seatbelt is on. If you want a live map, keep Life360. If you want the seatbelt on and the phone down, add BuckledApp.

What Life360 does well

A live family map, place alerts, crash detection, and on higher plans emergency dispatch, roadside assistance and individual driver reports. If knowing where everyone is matters most, it is a strong choice.

What it doesn’t do

Life360 can tell you your teen used their phone while driving, after the drive is over. It doesn’t stop it, and it doesn’t check whether they were wearing a seatbelt.

What BuckledApp does instead

At 20 MPH BuckledApp asks for a quick seatbelt selfie, and AI confirms the belt in about 2.5 seconds. As the driver, your teen’s TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and games stay locked until the car stops. Maps, music and calls stay available.

With Safety+ you see that the last seatbelt check passed and when, and you get an alert if protection is switched off or setup is incomplete.

Privacy teens accept

BuckledApp has no live map and no route history. It uses location and motion on the phone only to measure speed and detect when a drive starts and stops. That is a big reason teens keep it running.

Questions we get asked

Is BuckledApp a Life360 replacement?

Only if you don’t need location sharing. BuckledApp replaces the driving part: instead of a report on phone use after the drive, the distracting apps are locked during it, and the seatbelt is checked first.

Can I use Life360 and BuckledApp together?

Yes. They don’t conflict: Life360 for location, BuckledApp for the seatbelt and the phone.

Does BuckledApp show my teen’s location?

No. Parents see whether BuckledApp is on, whether the last seatbelt check passed, and whether setup is complete.

Questions people search for

Is there an app like Life360 that blocks phone use while driving?

BuckledApp locks distracting apps while the vehicle is moving, on iPhone and Android, and checks the seatbelt before giving them back. It doesn’t do location sharing, so families who want both use it alongside Life360.

Life360 alternative without location tracking?

BuckledApp focuses on driving safety without a live map: seatbelt verification, a phone lock while driving, and a parent view of whether protection is on.
